Mar 26, 2019Can someone please explain to me the difference between these two switches GS305 and GS105NA?
Hi, I'm looking for a 5 port switch and I found two models from Netgear that I'm interested to use at my home with my desktop, Nvidia Shield, etc... I looked the specs and my non-technical expertise doesn't help to differentiate both. Could someone please highlight what is so different between the GS105NA and the GS305?
Is the difference that the GS105NA can connect up to 2gibit per port and the GS305 only makes up to 1gbit?
Hi Retired_Member,
The GS105NA is the product order code for the GS105 switch in North America. The latest model of the GS105 switch is the GS105v5 (v = version).
The latest model of the GS305 switch is GS305v2.
Could someone please highlight what is so different between the GS105NA and the GS305?
The only difference between the GS105v5 and GS305v2 that I noticed in their respective data sheet is the Power Consumption.
- The Power Consumption of the GS105v5 is 2.7W (when all ports used, line-rate traffic)
- The Power Consumption of the GS305v2 is 2.34W (Max) and 0.45W (Standby)
Is the difference that the GS105NA can connect up to 2gibit per port and the GS305 only makes up to 1gbit?
No.
