GS305 doesn't work on all Ports
Hello,
since Netgear-Support didn't reply back after more than two days I thought I might have more success on the forums:
I got a switch (GS305) a couple of days ago, but at best I'm only getting one or two ports to work. One cable is connected to the router, and the others are connected to two network sockets.
The switch isn't visible inside my router settings (GL AX-1800) either.
Without the switch everything is working fine.

Talking of
- a simple GS305, a GS305P or GS305PP with some PoE capilities (which is an unmanaged switch model exiting in various hardware releses, like v1...v5 - thus intentionally never requesting an IP address from your router by DHCP, so average consumer routers will -never- make these switches visible in any way), or
- a Plus Managed configureble PoE switch model GS305EP as tagged?
Either way, the basic troubleshooting is the same:
- Head to https://www.netgear.com/support/ and type the exact model for designtion
- Locate the Installation Guide
- Check the LED indications as indicated
- Keep in mind the majority of non-"working" switch ports issues are cused by poor wiring, bad cabling, faultly patch cords, ...
- In case the issue remains, head to https://my.netgear.com/ where your Netgear product should already be registered (if not, do it now) to your account
- Select the product registered, by selecting from the list, or by [View Product]
- Follow the guided [Request Hardware Support] process.
