GS316PP - drops connections every 4-5 days
I have a GS316PP 16 Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged PoE+ Switch with FlexPoE (183w). The switch is connected to
- Hikvision CCTV (6 ports for cameras and 2 ports to NVR)
- Video Door Phones and a Doorbell (3 ports)
This switch functioned effectively for approximately 11 months. However, recently, all the CCTV cameras go offline every 4 to 5 days, while the NVR, video door phones, and doorbells continue to operate normally. Additionally, even when all CCTV cameras are offline, I am still able to access the previously recorded footage; it is solely the cameras that go offline.
I contacted a Hikvision engineer who examined the NVR but was unable to identify any problems. Upon turning off the switch and then turning it on again, the cameras became operational again. This situation recurs every 4 to 5 days. The engineer indicated that since the issue was rectified by restarting the Netgear switch, it is not related to the NVR but rather to the switch itself. Nevertheless, I believe that if the switch were malfunctioning, I would not be able to access the CCTV NVR, and the doorbells would also cease to function.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? What do you think, would be it the switch or the CCTV NVR itself?
