netgear gs116pp stops working all 24 hours
hi,
am having a strange problem with my NETGEAR GS116PP PoE switch:
- After ~2 years, it stops working approximately the same time in the evening and stops channeling traffic
- Still, all lights are on
- Plugging it off and plugging it in, solves the problem
- It does not happen all days, and it does not happen exactly the same time - most likely late evening
- Before (within the first two years), it was working 24/7 without problems.
- This already is the second device, which shows the scheme.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Welcome to the community! 🙂
Kindly access the support page of the GS116PP switch here and click the "Guided Assistance" button and follow the online instructions to create a support ticket for a hardware check. If the GS116PP has been declared faulty, be ready to submit a soft copy of the Proof of Purchase of it for warranty verification. If the hardware warranty is still valid, an online replacement will be processed.

Well, opening a ticket shows, that it does not fall under garantuee.
However, the hardware was bought with a so-called "ProSAFE Lifetime-Garantie", which I had expected to offer a lifelong garantuee.
Why is that?

What does the ticket state?

As a moderator indicated earlier in ths thread, head to https://my.netgear.com/ , click on registered product, and follow the [Request Hardware Support].
eberhard223 never mentioned why he was under the impression his GS116PP is not under the limited lifetime hardware warranty. TP Link unmanaged switches come (to my knowledge) not similar this generous warranty terms.

Well, 1) It was the 2nd device of this kind, which failed. 2) These kind of devices are normally a long time in a rack and expected to work without problems. So, even if there is warranty, it is cumbersome and creates friction. And 3) The mentioned lifetime hardware warranty process is also a cumbersome one. - Generous or not, I like devices which work as intended.
