Welcome to the community!
At first, the IP address that you get from Wireshark is multicast IP(239.255.255.250), not Switch IP address, obviously ping this IP is unreachable.
If you want to get Switch IP address, I suggest you discover switch with Smart Control Center (SCC) software. And this tool can discover, manage and login Switch with HTTP. You could download this tool from Netgear downloadcenter with below link:

Ok so I installed the smart control software (v1.1.3.3) off the netgear website and when i go to "discover" i see no devices listed at all. I made sure that the ethernet connection adapter (under the adapters tab) was checked off.
I dont know if it makes a difference but I tried both ways of assigning an iP address and assigning an IP address automatically (DHCP) and both ways I see nothing listed. i saw somewhere that there is another possible software called Prosafe Plus Utility.
I am going to look and read some more.

Hi marcosgu,
Sorry, as your switch gs105v4 is plus switch, it only support Prosafe Plus Utility tool to discover. SCC only can discover Smart switch.
So could you try to discover gs105v4 with Utility again?
