XS505M Switch All Lights On, Unit unresponsive

I've been using the XS505M for about 4 years and haven't had an issue since but today the router just stopped working. All of the lights on the unit are turned on (all port lights are green). I've reset it multiple times, waited 30 seconds between each reset, did a factory reset, nothing works. The unit is unresponsive and no data or traffic moves through it.

I tried contacting NETGEAR but the only option is to come to here for support which is disappointing. Anyone have any insight on how to fix this issue aside from just buying a new one (which is crazy)?

Thanks!
Drew

With it being an unmanaged switch, not much to do with it other than potentially try a different power supply.

You could try different cables as well.

But you should be within your warranty as I believe it had a 5 year warranty.

To get a hold of support. Click on "MyNetgear" at the top.
Register an account (or login) and then the device.
From there you can start the support process.

  • I am having the exact same problem — all the lights are on green, even those with nothing plugged in, but the switch isn't doing anything. You mentioned resetting it; how did you do that? There's no power switch and no buttons or even recessed buttons I can find. Can you share how to reset it? Thanks!

oh that's interesting… just after I posted this, I noticed that all port lights turned off. I had restarted the device several times (removing power) and had several minutes ago removed ALL ports, but the lights were all still on. At some point, the lights turned off while everything was disconnected. Maybe that's the reset procedure? Anyway, now it works again!
