Fvx538 random reboots
Hello,
I have an FVX538 firewall that has been rebooting randomly over the past month. It did it again this morning and I received the following netgear monitoring email ( see below). I am running firmware version 3.0.7-24.
Another question i have is why does my date say Dec 31, 1969 ?
I look at the gui and my date is correct. I seen a few other forms on this site and the logs had similar dates. Is the date just some Netgear default ?

- jmizoguchiVirtuosoRouter did not sync with NTP server. I wold try using different NTP server .
- sat444AspirantI do see the ntp server fail but I don't feel that would make the server reboot.
If you were saying the NTPserver is the reason for the date / time problem in the log - wouldnt this also effect the gui ? The time in the gui is correct. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoThere is old thread just like this so suggest to search thread
- aditMentor1969 is the default date in the firmware. This is the date/time before the router syncs with a NTP. Use these NTPs, they are the most reliable: us.pool.ntp.org 0.pool.ntp.org 1.pool.ntp.org 2.pool.ntp.org 3.pool.ntp.org The NTP has nothing to do with why the router is rebooting, not sure why it was even mentioned. I'm only aware of 3 things that can cause it to reboot: 1. Power issue 2. Overloading the router 3. Hardware failure
