How do I connect to my satellite modem GUI on WAN side from LAN side of FVS318N?
I have a TooWay Satellite modem that is controlled via 192.168.100.1 connected to the WAN port. I have a MAC and other equipment on the LAN side. LAN side is all fine I have a 192.168.1.x IP range but have also set the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 on router and Mac so I can access the modem if I replug it to the LAN side. Naturally I cannot control the modem from the LAN side. How do I do this?

You shouldn't use such a big subnet mask. In the case of most modems, if you have it ahead of the main router, and they are on different subnets, it will let you access it at the 100.1 address, even if it is giving your router a public IP address. This isn't always the case. This is why usually people recommend to bridge / DMZ the modem to the router, depending on the options, so you only really need to configure or adjust one device, instead of 2 for everything you do. Makes life simple :)

Hi rlusw,
I would assume that the TooWay Satellite modem is a modem-router combination. I would suggest that it would be best if you set the TooWay Satellite modem to bridge mode so that the WAN IP Address will be registered to the WAN port of the FVS318N.
However, if my suggestion above is not possible, kindly try this: On one of the Windows PCs on the LAN side of the FVS318N, set a static IP Address that is within the LAN subnet range of the FVS318N. For example, the FVS318N is on 192.168.1.1 then set a static IP address of 192.168.1.2 on the PC. Then, add another static IP address that is within the LAN subnet range of the TooWay Satellite modem. For example, the TooWay Satellite modem can be access via 192.168.100.1 then add another static IP address of 192.168.100.2 on the PC. Then, check if you can access the web-GUI of the TooWay Satellite modem while the PC is on the LAN side of the FVS318N.
Refer to the screenshot below on how you could add mutltiple static IP address on a Windows PC:
Hope it helps. Welcome to the community! :smileyhappy:

One of our sites has a cable modem at 192.168.100.1 and we're using 192.168.1.1 and can access the cable modem fine from inside the lan. This is because to the router, 192.168.100.1 is a 'foreign' address and gets sent out to the wan where it hits the modem and comes back fine. No configuration changes needed. :)
