Netgear FVS318G 8 port wired router PORT FORWARDING NIGHTMARE
Hi Guys,
Hope you can help me with my Port forwarding issue.
I have a Netgear FVS318G 8 port wired router with Firmware Version 3.1.1-18 (latest)
I have spent hours in trying to setup multiple IP cameras with no success. I am able to get 1 camera working by: In Security / Services / Firewall utilising the default HTTP which defaults to port 80
Index | Service Name | Filter | LAN Server IP Address | LAN Users | WAN Users | Destination | Bandwidth Profile | Log | Action
1 | HTTP | Allow Always | 192.168.1.13 | ANY | WAN1 | NONE | Neve |
IF in Security / Services / Firewall I setup a custom table (below)
| |||||||||||||||||||||
|
Then In Security / Services / Firewall Set it up as per below
| ||||||||||
! | Index | Service Name | Filter | LAN Server IP Address | LAN Users | WAN Users | Destination | Bandwidth Profile | Log | Action |
2 | IP CAMERA 1 | Allow Always | 192.168.1.13 | ANY | WAN1 | NONE | Never
3 | IP CAMERA 2 | Allow Always | 192.168.1.45 | ANY | WAN1 | NONE | Never |
Then when I type into Explorer or Chrome
http:// XXX.XXX.91.176/ Camera 1 opens
http:// XXX.XXX.91.176:8078 I get a Error message site can’t be reached.
http:// XXX.XXX.91.176:8077 I get a Error message site can’t be reached.
I have restarted router after setting up above..
Please help!!!!
Thanks
Daniel

Hello danieljgor,
Welcome to the community!
My opinion on this is unless the ports 8078 and 8077 are defined on the camera(s) this is not going to work. I am thinking all if the three cameras are using port 80 for web access. My suggestion is to use "Translate to port number", edit the rules you have created for camera 2 and 3. See image reference below:

Let us know if this helps.
Thanks,
- danieljgorAspirantThank you for your response.
When pinging the port they are closed even after rules are setup in router.
Only port open is port 80 when setup as http
Thoughts??
Thanks

Hi Daniel,
Can you PM e a screenshot of your Inbound Rules? Did you try my suggestion to use Translate to port number?
Thanks,

Hi Guy's,
Sorry about the delay.
It does work when translating all ports to port 80.
What issue can this cause?
Odd that you can simply open ports!
Thanks
Daniel
