Hi DaneA,
I gave up struggle with PPTP... I configured L2TP/IPsec successfully, it seems very stable and throughput is double (13 vs. 6.5MBps). But there is a decision to use IPsec with Netgear VPN Lite Client soon, in order to achieve the maximal (44Mbps) VPN bandwith. Thank you for your support.
My personal opinion and recommendation to others: It does not make sense to struggle with PPTP, forget it, use L2TP.
