2. If not, it is recommended to perform a factory reset after updating the firmware then reconfigure it from scratch.
I will & return to write what happens.
P.S. I am going to hate to do this. Is there a way to copy the current configuration to a file?
Performing a factory reset right after updating the device to its latest firmware version gives you a clean setup using the latest firmware version. Furthermore, some enhancements as well as bug fixes of the latest firmware version cannot be obtained without a factory reset.
Kindly observe if same problem occurs after doing a factory reset.

Hello All,
Well this W/E I reset the router back to factory settings, and reconfigured FVS114 & the Dynamic DNS page does not show up.
The page is displayed as a solid light gray in color with nothing else displayed.
FYI ==> I tried this twice, with the same results.
Now my next question is: If I go back to the previous version will I get the page back?
Many thank for the help so far, but we are stricking out on this one.
Has this equipment seen a better day & be put to rest as Netgear is probably not supporting this equipment in any real way?

yes, there is a heading "Maintenance" & under that there is "Settings Backup"

It is alright if you downgrade the firmware to the previous version then check if the Dynamic DNS page will show up.

The FVS114 is already End-Of-Life and its equivalent replacement firewall is the FVS318G. Kindly check this link below:

WIth regard to this, you may contact Netgear Support: http://support.netgear.com/general/contact/ then inquire if the FVS114 still has hardware warranty. Please be reminded that Netgear Support will ensure that all troubleshooting steps have been exhausted and might asked you to submit a soft copy of the Proof of Purchase of the FVS114 for verification purposes.

It is possible that you can backup the configuration file and restore it as well. Kindly check pages 7-6 to 7-7 of the FVS114 reference manual here.

Sounds like a bug either in the browser or the router. I somehow recall an issue like this being mentioned on the old forum, but can't remember where.
Here's what I would try--go back to the previous firmware and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, you may be able to upgrade the firmware, but not up to the one you've tried. As long as there isn't a feature you need in the firmware you tried, I'd actually just leave it alone. 'If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it' is a good motto when dealing with smb vpn routers like these.
As far as backup and restore, what I do is save each page of the config as a pdf. Then it's like having a book. I open the PDFs on one side of my screen and the router config on the other and simply copy everything over. Works pretty well.
As far as support, this is a dinosaur in Netgear's eyes. Although as you know, it's a great working piece of equipment. It still can hit 40Mbits download and handle multiple site-to-site vpn connections simultaneously. It is important to note though that I believe it came with a lifetime warranty, so if you have your receipt, you have a warranty claim.

Hardware warranty, not software, so no dice.
