AP WAX214v2 password reset
Hi all,
Our house was hit by lightening yesterday which blew our internet router. We have a new one installed but this has stopped our AP working. I’m trying to link the 2 and have done a factory reset on the AP but I keep getting a pop up screen for the AP login when using the “CONFIG-ONLY” network and it’s asking to enter a password. I’ve used the one which I’d set but this is no longer registering. I’ve also used “password” with it being the default. Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to work around this. I’ve no idea how to reset the password on the access point, I assumed the factory reset would have wiped this.

What is this "internet router"?
You have posted your message in the section for SMART Wi-Fi, General and Legacy Routers.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Business Wireless - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads. - schumakuGuru - Experienced User
Factory reset the WAX214v2 again Pressing the Reset button for at least 11 seconds resets the AP to factory default
settings. If in doubt, drop (forget) the previously configured wireless network stored under the same name from your computer.
Repeat the installation from scratch again, follow the fine documentation Essentials WiFi 6 AX1800 Dual Band Access Point Model WAX214v2 User Manual on "Installation and login for the first time" starting from p.13.
When establishing the Wi-Fi connection, and accessing the WAX214v2 for the first time, you are asked to supply a new password among other data.
