Business-Central / WNAP210v2: mac filtering

Hello All,

searched the console and downloaded a manual but I cannot find this one thing:

Is it possible to enable mac filtering in business central?

Many Thanks.

Greetings, J.

    Hi J.

After configuring the portal, the vouchers menu is on the right tab on the SSID created for the guest account.

Page 138 from the manual is handling "Manage Vouchers With a Clerk User Account" and gives a step by step procedure to create the vouchers.

When you have created the voucher you see the voucher in a list. I suggest to use the name of the person as a holder for the voucher. So you have a proper overview.

There is no way to add a batch of users. But you are able to activate and deactivate the ticket.

Guest logon: When the user select the SSID, he only have to enter the password and then he is able to use the network

    I hope this will help.

    Regards,

    Eric

  • Hello All,

in one manual I read that there should be an acl tab under " locations" but I can't find it.

In what seems to me like the latest manual mac-filtering is not mentioned.

The problem is that I cannot use Business Central if there is no mac filtering or othter thing

that allows me to restrict users per network.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Greetings, J.

      Hello JamesLast,

Thanks for posting your question and welcome to our community.

I like to suggest an alternative for registering MAC addresses. Business Central 2.1 is offering a captive portal where you can add a user and the restrictions you like to offer. Maybe this is a more secure way for you. With the Captive Portal you are able to limit the devices of the user to only one with a voucher.

Below the manual, page 52 is describing the portal functionality

If you have questions please let us know.

      Regards,

      Eric

        Eric,

thank you very much for the reply.

I understand that the captive/voucher system provides al lot of the restriction I want to implement, but I fail to see where I can add

a user of a list of users.

        greetings, J.
