How do you do DHCP reservation on a WN203?
I have just started configuring my new WN203 to replace the wireless part of an older Bell ConnectionHub. I've gotten past the initial stuff and assigned a DHCP address range for the new WN203 pool, ...

I wasn't sure how this would work so I tried a couple of things and this is what I found worked.
I let the WN203 be a DHCP client from the upstream ConnectionHub and it was assigned an IP address in the pool, which I subsequently coded as a DHCP reservation. I turned of the DHCP function on the WN203.
When I used the WN203's network, my devices were assigned the same IP addresses by the ConnectionHub as it had used when it's wireless function was operating. I was then able to use the same DHCP reservations as before which turned out to simplify the whole process.

Hello jpullam,
There is no IP address reservation option on the WN203. You'll have to do the IP reservation on your router since it is also your DHCP server.
Thanks,

How does that work???? I thought that the Access Point ran DHCP and did the IP assignment for the devices it was connected to.
If I turn the 203's DHCP off, so the devices obtain their addresses from the router's DHCP? Are there some settings I need to be aware of?
I'm thinking that my plan of having wireless cameras connecting to the WN203 and addressable outside the LAN isn't going to work. Did I waste my money on this AP?- jpullamAug 14, 2016Guide

Hello jpullam,
Sorry for not getting back right away. For your first post, I was referring to the DHCP Address reservation on your router and NO the Access Point does not have DHCP server settings and does not have an address reservation feature. If you will enable DHCP on the AP it will automatically get it from the router or in your case you have assigned a specific IP on the AP. To put it in simpler terms, the AP is like a wireless switch - it forwards the network information through wireless.
