SNMP wlan utilization rate

I'm trying to understand the hrSysWlanUtilizationRate SNMP object. The description in the MIB file says "the field indicates the wlan Utilization Rate based on
calculating station access Time" so I would expect it to vary quite a bit but when I graph it it looks like this:

This is not what I expected so can anyone explain what this field actually is?

Thanks,

Steve.

    Hi,

    Are you using the WAC720 as a standalone or controller mode?

    Thanks,

    Thomas

      No - it's a standalone WNAP320 on the latest firmware.

    Hi scliffe,

    The hrSysWlanUtilizationRate SNMP object indicates the percentage of WLAN utilization with respect to number of wireless stations accessing the WLAN and the total time wireless stations accessing the WLAN.

      Thanks awaghe - I'm aware of the description of this object but it doesn't seem to match what it looks like when graphed. It increases gradually over a few hours then drops to zeo and starts again. My Wireless devices are certainly not access the WLAN in that manner.

    Just curious, is that correlating with your AP's uptime?

      A good suggestion, but no. My AP has been up for almost a week and this is occuring regularly 2-3 times/day:

      [UDP: [192.168.128.254]:161->[0.0.0.0]:42517]=>[Linux wlan-ap 2.6.23-WNAP320_V3.5.6.0-g0c2ca724 #1 Tue Apr 12 03:19:54 PDT 2016 mips] Up: 6 days, 17:57:42.78

        Can you please tell me the application name that you are running to measure WLAN utilization?

        When AP fails to fetch values from database this can happen.
