WAC510 Unable to login from browser after firmware update

I have read prior discussions and I have tried the ssh solution offered there. connection is refused. I have attempted to reset. The reset appears to have reset everything but the password. I know that I am using the correct password because it is the one I used to access the device to start the firmware upgrade. Other than replacing the device, I do not know any other solution. Of course, I have tried the default admin password login credentials as well. The firmware update was very poorly implemented!

Whatever and why ever you consulted some unknown solutions for updating the firmware.

All you need is a Web browser and the ability to RT*M: Insight Managed Smart Cloud Wireless Access Point WAC510 User Manual on p.189 ff.

Was this device WAC510 added to the Netgear Insight management? Head to the [Location] view, and tap the [Local Configuration] ... there you can find the "Device Admin Password" valid for this complete location. Understanding you know the local admin password - I'm lost why people try to reinvent the wheel.

Netgear Insight will win any attempt over resetting the local password.

Where is the problem now, please?

I am not sure what you mean by your initial comment. I did not consult any unknown sources or solutions for the firmware update. When I logged into the AP, it offered to complete an online update and I used the online update. The update completed and I was no longer able to access the device through the browser interface. After several attempts to log in, I gave up and decided to attempt a reset to factory default settings. I again attempted to log in through the browser interface using the default "admin" username and "password" for the password. This effort failed as well. The device was not previously registered in the Insight app, but I attempted to register it. The registration failed. The device was found on the network, but would not allow management or registration by the Insight app. (After reading your response, I tried to register the device again with Insight and it failed.) I then searched the forums and found RaghuHR's post that explained that the firmware update implemented a strong password protocol that would cause access failures if you had a previously saved weak password. This case was exactly my situation. He outlined a technique to bypass the updated password protocol by logging into the AP device using SSH. Although it appeared to work for several users, it failed for me because the shell could still not log into the device. I received an error message stating that the connection had been refused. There is no wheel reinventing on my part. Before the firmware update, I could access my device through my browser with ease. Now I cannot. I hope that this explanation helps you better understand my problem. Thanks!

How easy would it be if adding a link to the now four years old post coming from a different community member, quoting some PM, instead of letting the reader guess in the dark?

Trying to explain you can't ssh to the now updated WAC510? Honestly, I have not idea if ssh remains available on the much newer firmware you might have installed - better late than never...
