wndap360 and wc7520 speed issues and correct setup
Hi, I am having issue with the speeds of the wndap360's. we have 18 of these setup so far, i have 2 more to setup up, we have had them for quite a while now and I havn't had any issues. Recently...

Hi,
The maximum speed depends on the channel width, guard interval, the channel congestion and the distance of the client from the AP.
In general 2.4Ghz wireless is more congested, so as and when the congestion increases the data rates will go down to increase the reliability.
When the channel width is set to dynamic 20/40Mhz and if the AP can operate at 40 Mhz, then the maximum speed will reach to 270Mbps, if it cant operate at 40Mhz then the data rate will fall down to 130Mbps maximum. But if we configure the channel width to static 20Mhz the maxmium speed the AP can operate is 130Mbps, and it will never be more than that. That is the reason you are seeing the data rate at 130Mbps.

I did think it was sorted and the speeds have gone up considerably, however the only real stable wireless is the 5Ghz. The 2.4Ghz is sometimes as high as 270Mbps and currently it has dropped to as low as 1Mbps i havent changed anything for this to happen.
i have changed on the laptop within the drivers 802.11n chsnnel width for band 2.4Ghz form auto to 20MHz only and the speeds went up to 130Mbps i have changed it back to auto and the speed stayed up around 130Mbps. this happened on 3 identical laptops at the same time. any ideas?
Thanks

Hi,
Do you need any help or more understanding regarding the data rate and throughput?

That explains quite a bit, i think that is what is happening on our network.
thank you for clarifying this for me
