V1.4.12.2 Not off to a great start.

So V1.4.12.2 was installed on my CAX30 overnight between Thursday 4/13 and Friday 4/14. Immediately we have issues with internet in our house. Phone and tablets have trouble loading pages. When toggle to cell data everything loads just fine. Internet speeds still test good, but at times all devices indicate no internet on the WiFi I am connected to. From my experience with this concern: it appears to have slightly better speeds when it is working however, connectivity is still a problem.

  • Same here. No connection issues my way, meaning I connect just fine but my speed tests have only been slightly faster than 1.4.11.2 (ie: 120 mbps from about 100 mbps) which is very poor compared to the 500-700+ mbps I experienced before 1.4.11.2 and 1.4.12.2

Yes! Before I would consistently test between 600-800. Since 1.4.11.2 & now 1.4.12.2 I am testing around 160-200 max. Definitely frustrating.

What devices are you speed testing on? Speed testing with NH app or Ooklas installable speed test app?

Do ethernet connected PC speeds look ok?

What channels are you using? I'm using 1 and 161 here.

After v1.4.12.2 was on your CAX30, Had a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed afterwards? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

    Im also on v.12.2

The devices I’ve chiefly done the speed tests are an iPhone 12 Pro Max, Mac mini (M1, 2020), and a MacBook Pro (2016).
The first two devices are Wi-Fi 6, and the latter Wi-Fi 5. The iPhone and MBP showing similar Wi-Fi speeds (120-170mbps) for both web and app versions from Ookla, but the NH app (on iPhone only) tests at an average of 400mbps. The Mac mini is connected via gigabit ethernet and currently bats a solid 930mbps (Ookla web and app) where it performed slightly better at a solid 970mbps on versions prior to 1.4.11.2.

I had done a reset back when I had to manually install 11.2, but not for 12.2 yet. I’ll eventually write back with the status and logs as well!

Lets try a FR and setup from scratch.

Be sure to not enable any Armor, SPC or Traffic Meter of the bat.

I'm seeing this on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with the NH app:

Was told this was max we'll see thru the NH app. Wired speeds with a ethernet connected PC gets me near my 900Mpbs and to spec 50Mpbs on the up though. I have a RAXE500 in wireless bridge mode connected to the 5Ghz radio on the CAX30. I see to spec speeds thru it as well.

Thank you for your response.  Just performed the factory reset again.  Let it come back up, and power cycled for 60 seconds.  Logged back in and performed complete set up from scratch.

2.4 band is set to channel 1

5 band is set to channel 161

(Netgear support and I worked on setting the best channels in my location recently, and we have found these work best here)

Address pool range has now been set to 100-200.

After this, wired to port 4 of the router, speeds (Ookla website) are reading 320Mbps down, 20-22Mbps up.

Below taken with Ookla installed app:

      2.4 - between 74-105Mbps down, 20-22Mbps up.

      5 - between 701-747Mbps down, 20-22Mbps up.

Before factory reset some apps would not load, Netflix & Discovery+ would not load movies.  Since FR they seem to be working fine  We will continue to monitor this daily.

Ok, though power to the modem is with in specs, could check to see if the ISP would raise the power just a bit. Maybe up to -1 to 0db?

Correctables and un-correctables is zero so thats good.

Any Criticals seen in the Event logs needs to be reviewed by the ISP. Have NG check these as well. Includes any Warnings or Errors as well if seen here.

See how it goes and keep us posted.
