VLAN Routing - AES67 and Dante

Hi,

I have two VLANS set up on a system with 16 switches. I am using the Video with AES67 Audio profile for my main VLAN VLAN 95). This VLAN has all of the Crestron control and NVX devices on it as well as the control side of the Symetrix DSP units. I also have a Dante Audio VLAN (VLAN 201) which has all of the Dante ports of the Symetrix DSP units as well as the Dante peripherals like Bluetooth devices and Dante XLR io devices.

I need to be able to route the AES67 audio from several of the NVX devices to the Symetrix Dante units. How do I enable VLAN routing so those NVX devices can stream AES76 audio to the Symetrix audio processors?

Attached are some screen shots of the switch configuration...

Thanks,

David

  • Netgear Tech support recommended I have just one VLAN that would accommodate all the protocols that I need. I am currently using the Video with AES67 on my main control VLAN which also has my NVX encoders and decoders on it. I also have a Dante Audio VLAN with all of my Dante equipment.

One step at a time - I changed the main VLAN to use the Video with Dante profile since Dante is AES67 compliant (from what I understand). I'll give it a day or so to make sure everything is still working as it was. If all seems well I will move the ports that are on the Dante VLAN to the Video with Dante VLAN and  see if everything works and if I can see my NVX AES67 audio streams on the Dante equipment.

I also have a colleague that recommended just having a flat network with 1 VLAN of the appropriate profile. He has done some bigger systems but the one I am working on has 16 switches, all linked with 10G fiber links and a variety of equipment including Crestron control, Crestron NVX video/audio streaming, a Crestron NVX Director, Shure Dante, Symetrix Dante, Dante amplifiers, and probably a few other things I overlooked.

I'll post more after the next step...

    Best,

    David
