I have the Net Gear Orbi SRR660

I have the Net Gear Orbi SRR660.  This system has 3 wireless networks.  The main network supports both 2.4 and 5Ghz.  Wireless network 2 allows me to have a separate SSID for the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands.  Wireless network 3 I use for guest devices, like the kids tablets or friends that stop by.  I have had this system for a few years.  It seems that with the newer versions of devices and updated  firmware, Net Gear has taken this functionality out.  I assume they did so to make it more common user friendly to setup and use.  But, for those folks that are somewhat IT savvy, this is a detriment.  The only problem is that the old version won't support Wi-Fi 6 or 7.  I do get consistently over 500M throughput both ways on the 5Ghz band, with a 1G fiber connection to the house.  I wish Net Gear would spend time and effort to reimplement this capability.

The Orbi Pro line is now EoL. So no new features or major FW updates will be forth coming.

The 60 series was a WiFi5 only supporting system. You can just add WiFi 6/7 to a system. All that entails getting newer hardware. So if you want WiFi6/7 support you'll need a new generation MESH system. Newer Orbi home supports WiFi7 and 7 and a separate IoT network for those IoT devices needing 2.4Ghz only support. The main WLAN remains a signal network only and can't be separated.

    Hard to imagine.

The 3rd wireless network was added with v2.5.0.108. Several fixes were implemented towards properly supporting MAC ACLs spanning over these networks over time, and some cloud certificates were updated to keep certain functionality workable.

Not aware, nor are there any hints where Netgear should have removed the two resp three "Wireless Networks" for making operations more "simple".
