Disabling Devices Using Router App

In the past month something changed with the Nighthawk app and router settings online. When I disable a device, my son is still able to go on Google Meets. It used to disable all internet access. Why did this change? How do I take back full control so my son isn't chatting with his friends on the home iPad while doing virtual school by using the router settings?

    Is there a message that displays in the app? May you provide a screenshot of the app when you attempt to disable your son's device.
