R8000 Netgenie says "router does not support remote access"

Since the net genie update I have not been able to login remotely from my iphone. It says my router does not support remote access but I know this is not true as I used it remotely ALL the time with the previous app. How do I fix this??? I need to be able to block/unblock access to wifi on my kids devices when I'm not home.

  • Was the routers FW updated? Is remote access enabled ON the router using the routers web page? 

  • I updated the firmware - still didn't work. Rolled back to the firmware recommend on another post. Still nothing

      Try removing the app from the phone, power cycle the phone then re-install the app. 

       

      If this fails, I'd phone contact or send a ticket about this to support. Something isn't right here.

      Go to the NG site and select support. I believe there should be some information there to either phone or create a ticket.
