MR60 Mesh and AP mode

I've been using the MR60 and two satellites for a while, and I had them connected to my Nighthawk R7000 without any issues. After upgrading my internet, I noticed that the R7000's LAN speeds weren't as good as what my fiber modem was offering, so I decided to switch the R7000 to AP mode and use it just for WiFi.

However, this caused a connectivity issue with the MR60 and satellites. So, I tried connecting the MR60 directly to the ONT fiber modem, but I got nothing but purple lights. I factory reset both the MR60 and satellites, plugged the MR60 back into the ONT fiber modem, and realized that the MR60 was set to router mode by default. This meant that the devices on my mesh network couldn’t communicate with anything on the ONT LAN.

Next, I switched the MR60 to AP mode. It received an IP address from the ONT, and I could see it on the rest of my network, but the satellites were no longer connecting to the MR60.

So, my question is:

Will the MR60 and satellites still function as a mesh network if the MR60 is in AP mode?

My goal is to have the MR60 and satellites all connected to the same network as my ONT fiber router.

Any suggestions?

Yes, the MS should work with the MR while in AP mode.

Did you have the MR in AP mode while connected to the R7000?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

I should also note that the main MR60 is plugged into the host router, and the satelites are connecting wirelesses via the mesh to the MR60.

      -------------------------------------------------------

That I do now know. I dont think so. However the R7000 also defaults to ip range 10.0.0.1/255 when there is a provider with the 192.0 range as well so maybe that is why it worked. I would have thought that it would have duplicate ips though from 2 different dhcp servers 1 on the MR and 1 on the R7000.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
      -------------------------------------------------------------

      Firmware v1.1.7.134

      --------------------------------

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The service is next gen fiber, and the model is Nokia XS-2426X-A

      -----------------------------------

      Cables are CAT6

Think I should set the MR60 as AP before or after I sync the Satelites >? Would it make a difference?

I would configured the MR and MS in router mode first. To be sure the MS are connected to the MR while in router mode.

What is the IP address pool string from the Nokia router? 192.168.1.1 or .0.1?

What is the default IP address pool range of the Nokia router? .2. to .254?

Is the WiFi radios on the Nokia router disabled and turned OFF?
