Nighthawk MK73 - AP Mode Satellite won't sync

I have a Nighthawk MK73.
So first unit MR70 was configured in AP mode, when i'm trying to add satellite MS70 that is connected via ethernet cable it won't sync always get satellite timeout on the MR70 GUI.

I have tried multiple times and it won't sync when satellite is connected via ethernet but when i disconnect ethernet cable and sync it over wifi it will sync  immediately and if i connect again ethernet cable and reboot satellite it again won't work and will have amber light.

Problem is not with cable as i tried multiple cables with both satellites and i have same issue, on the router side i see 1g full duplex.

As router i'm using Mikrotik 4011.

here are satellite debug logs.

    How are you wiring in the satellite? Through the mikrotik? The satellites should be wired through the MR70's lan port. So it should go mikrotik----->mr70------>MS70

      why??? MR70 is in  Operation Mode Access Point so there is no any reason to have satellite connected to MR70
      both MR70 and MS70 are connected to Mikoritk with both ports in the same bridge

        For the MS to work correctly, router or AP mode, ANY MS has to be connected behind the MR serially, not in parallel with the host router. MK and Orbi systems are designed this way. How the MESH traffic works on these systems.

    Are you connecting the MS to the back of the MR or is there a LAN switch in between the MR and MS?

    What CAT# LAN cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.

    Does the MS connect to the MR if the MR is in router mode and let the MS connect wirelessly first?

      yes cat6 cable
      both MR70 and MS70 are connected to Mikoritk with both ports in the same bridge

      I don't want to reset again MR70 to router mode to test, it should work in my configuration.

  • Updated just for someone if will face same problem.

    So current topology is like this:
     mikrotik eth2 ----->MR70AP mode ->  lan port   (it won't sync over ethernet in case is used WAN port)
     mikrotik eth3 ----->MS70
     mikrotik eth4 ----->MS70

      Reason why the MS won't sync is you have the MS connected to the host router and not behind the MR.

      Connected like this and this does work:

      mikrotik eth2 ----->MR70AP mode Wan port on MR ----->MR LAN port -----> MS70

      If more LAN ports are needed behing the MR, which in most cases will be, then it would look like this;

      mikrotik eth2 ----->MR70AP mode Wan port on MR ----->MR LAN port -----> Non managed 1Gb LAN switch -----> All MS70 connected to Lan switch.
