Unable to locate routers wifi

MR60 — Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 Router
I have been using my mesh system with no issue for over a year now. The other night we had a massive storm, unsure if the storm is related, since then the internet went down. Now the internet is back up but I cannot set up my router again. The name of the router is not appearing in the wifi list, only the guest version appears. I have tried turning it all off and back in multiple times, to no avail. I have tried setting up a "new system", but have yhe same issue. When I try to login to the app it says it has times out instantly. I have uninstaller amd reinstalled the app. Still not working. Can anyone help please?

Storms are great at killing electronic kit.

Did your rescue attempts include this:

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

    • Turn off and unplug modem.
    • Turn off router and computers.
    • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on computers and rest of network.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I tried this last night. Turned everything off including gaming consoles and disconnected the wifi from our phones and the aircon tablet, but the router still did not appear in the wifi list. The app can tell me what my system is but says it's offline. One thing I didn't do was turn mu TV off, which is connected to the internet, so I will try again today with absolutely everything that usually connects to this set up turned off and cross my fingers.

Hi again. I tried again just now but unfortunately the router name is still not appearing in the wifi list. Only the guest version. I've also tried pressing the reset button but that also has not helped.
Is there anything else I can try?

Last resort that you can try is a 30-30-30 reset on the MR to see if this might bring back the main wifi signal. If this fails, then you'll need to get in contact with NG support to see if you have any RMA options.

There are used MK60 series on amazon for fairly cheap if that's an option to look at if there is no RMA option for you.

Rather than using the wifi and an app to set the thing up, it is usually better to us e a wired connection to the router from a PC and then use a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI).

        Visit the support pages:

        Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual Use a web browser to access the router

This will check that the router is still working. If the GUI won't let you in, you may have corpse on your hands.

This will also remove the wifi from the picture. After you have restored the router's Internet connection you can than go in and play with the wifi settings. You can check that it is set to broadcast its SSID, for example.

Look at the section Troubleshoot WiFi Connectivity

What modem/gateway/ONT (optical network termination) sits between your router and the Internet.

Remember, when you reset the router, or if it is resets itself, it will revert to using the default wifi SSID, the one on the label on the MR60.

Good luck. You may need it.
