Admin account access FUBAR
Greetings.
I am trying to add another satellite to an existing RBK753. I bought another RBK753 system which I will use in another house but took one of the "new" satellites and attempted to sync with existing system. No joy. Won't sync. Lights blink on both then nothing. That is problem 1.
Problem 2 is I can't login to the ORBI app admin account. When I attempt to reset the admin account password it doesn't like my security question answers and so I am stuck. I hope that updating firmware will solve sync problem but can't do that since I can't get into the app. Looked at various tutorial videos but all assume that you can get passed the security questions that I cannot. One fubar after another.
Suggestions?
PROBLEM SOLVED. Despite what I was told by tech support I was able to solve the problem w/o doing a reset and starting from zero. Not sure how/why some of this happened but here it the story. I took the 2nd system (ORBI68) to another building on our property and completed the setup with just 1 satellite,i.e., all that was needed there. Remember the 2nd satellite I wanted to add to the existing system (ORB95). Setting up ORBI68 yielded creation of the admin account for that system. I left the app open and came back to the house and the app had lost contact with ORB68 but was now "seeing" ORB95. When I chose to connect to ORB95 I was given the option to use biometric authentication and got into the admin account that I had been blocked out of. The addition of a satellite to ORB95 was completed w/o any firmware changes anywhere and everything is working as it should. Take that NETGEAR tech support!

You'll want to update the incoming FW to the same version as whats loaded on the existing system. Any satellites should be at same FW level as the main router unit.
Glad you got it working.
Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

This happened to me once. During the initial setup, I had somehow neglected to "pull down" the security choices and deliberately choose which ones to use. The only solution when this happens is a Factory Reset. Was really annoying since I had spent quite some time defining reserved IPs, setting up options, etc. During the Factory Reset, I was careful to go through the steps carefully and after the system was configured, I tested the recovery process by entering the password incorrectly three times.... and it worked!
After the setup, I was very careful to save a copy of the configuration. Doing this means that during setup after a Factory Reset, there is a step early on with the option to "load a saved configuration" (which also works) and that saves a lot of time.

Did you first update the 2nd system to same FW verion that is currently on your existing system, then once thats done, power OFF the 2nd system, then power on the one RBS you wanna connect to the existing system and press the sync button on the RBS then select Add Satellite on the existing systems RBR Web page using a wired PC and web browser, to see if it will sync? It should here.

Netgear tech support told me the only solution to the app problem is doing a reset on the router and starting over. REALLY don't want to do that and potentially break a otherwise working system to just add a satellite. REALLY frustrated at this point.
Not sure how I can setup the 2nd system either since I'm essentially locked out of the admin account in the app.

I haven't powered up the 2nd system yet. But won't be able to do anything about firmware since the ORBI app login if fubar.
