Can't logon to Orbi - "Logon timed out, please try again"
A previous thread indicated that this was fixed. It does not appear to be. I updated my firmware and iPhone app. Deleted and reinstalled my iPhone app three times based on the previous thread. Same result. Can't access the device with the app. routerlogin.net working just fine.
I have an RBR850 and RBS850
Running firmware Version
V4.6.14.3_2.3.12
Any tips?

Did you try disabling private mac/ip address? Or icloud relay?

A link to this previous thread would be helpful. Over time, the Orbi 'app' has malfunctioned in numerous ways. Most recently, the forum saw posts (including from me) about the Android app no longer being able to employ Anywhere Access to connect to the router when not connected to the Orbi WiFi. (i.e. "locally")
"Logon Timed Out" was one of the previous issues.
There are two steps that might be helpful:
- Take a screen shot of the message that appears on the iPhone and post it.
- Shake the iPhone and create a Bug Report to inform Netgear of the problem. (One would assume that Netgear is already aware of the issue and "working on it", but I can find no link that describes what Netgear may (or may not) be working on at any given time.*)
*Sorry for the rant. This situation with the Orbi 'app' gets old after a while.
Thanks for the responses. I tried the app about 12 hours later and it worked. I didn't do anything different. Not sure what the difference was or what caused the original behavior.

Issue seems to be with the latest iOS version. Here's how I fixed it:
- You need an older iOS device. I used my kids' iPad running iOS 15.7
- On the older device, install Orbi app and login to your netgear account
- Without Anywhere Access, login to your router (admin / <password>)
- You should have logged in successfully
- Go to Settings -> Anywhere Access
- You should see Anywhere Access is enabled
- If so, Disable and Enable it. If not, just Enable it
- On your device running latest iOS, quit and relaunch the app
- When you see the screen to login, quickly click on Login using Anywhere Access
- You should be able to login now
Good Luck

Does there exists the way connect the router to Anywhere Access from the browser?

No.

Cannot call this a "solved" solution. It is a workaround at best. Those of us that do not have older devices cannot access the orbi app, so do better Netgear

I tried the suggested solution but did not work for me.
My solution was to force my latest IOS device to connect on the mobile network NOT wifi. This seemed to work. Switching it back to wifi continued to remain working.

Having the same issue for the first time in May 2025. A new version of the app launched 2 weeks ago? I fire up the app, it briefly shows status, then takes to a “time out” page that does not respond to the correct password.
This SUCKS
I am not even TRYING to manage Orbi settings, just view status.

Nothing has worked for me, this is definitely not something that is solved. I don’t have any older ios devices that’ll help me, and when I contacted customer support, they were no help at all. I’ve been using the router website, but I can’t do certain things on there that I can only accomplish on the app.

This problem is frustrating. It started suddenly for me and I have found no workarounds -- including deleting/reinstalling the app; rebooting everything etc. I'm on an iphone with the most recent updates.

I'm sorry you're encountering the "Logon timed out, please try again" message. This issue is often related to browser cache, network connectivity, or temporary glitches in the system. I recommend clearing your browser cache and cookies, trying a different browser or incognito mode, and ensuring you're connected directly to the relevant network (such as Orbi Wi-Fi, if applicable). Restarting your device and the router/modem can also help. If the problem continues, consider checking for firmware updates or reaching out to official support for further assistance. Hope this gets resolved quickly for you!

Wrong. I have done all of these things 100,000 times. It is not being resolved at all.

No, you'll need to be patient while NG fixes this for the app. Otherwise use the web page to log in and make changes in mean time.

Which browser cache in the Orbi app? :)

Thanks to everyone for replying. It's great to know that I'm not alone in experiencing this logon problem. But does anyone know whether the problem occurs only for older ("past-end-of-life") Orbi routers -- or are current models affected too? I have an RBR40 running firmware v2.7.5.6 and an iPhone 13 pro running iOS 18.4.1.
Does anyone know if Netgear Customer Support monitors these chats? If not, how do we report the problem to them?
If Netgear Customer Support is listening: (1) Are you aware of this "Logon timed out, please try again" system problem? (2) Does the problem affect only certain Orbi models? (3) Will a repair be released for the affected models? (4) When is the repair likely to be released.

We have made them aware.
No.
We all hope so.
NG doesn't give that information out. Hopefully next app update.

I have LBR20, firmware 2.7.5.6, Orbi App 2.45.0.66.
I cannot connect locally or remote anymore. In the browser routerlogin or 192.168.1.1 work fine.

Forgot to say: iOS app.
