Losing internet connection after reboot
I am experiencing a strange problem.
I have been an Orbi user and for many years.
My setup is an AT&T BGW320 gateway and my RBR760 with 2 RBS760 satellites connected to it in router mode.
No bridging or IP passthrough I just have the Orbi running on it's own network with it's own IP range 10.0.0 with my BGW320 on 192.168.1
Just recently if I unplug and replug the Ethernet cable or reboot the 760 it loses internet connection.
I can access the web gui interface but it says no internet connection.
If I reset and reinstall the 760 then all works fine again and it will continue to do so until the next reboot.
Over the years I have rebooted, reset, unplugged and re-plugged ethernet cables and never experienced this issue.
What could be causing this all of a sudden?

Hi Stephen,
Good to see you here.
I will check which port is being used on the 320.
I will say though that once I reset the RBR to get it back online the network is 100% stable with perfect speeds throughout the house.
This is why I doubt it's anything to do with the internet cable. Also If I test via ethernet I get slightly better up/down speeds than what I am paying for.
Like you I tend to think it could an issue with the RBR. It is from a previous beta test and was replaced during that beta.
I am trying to identify what setting gets changed on reboot or on reacquisition of the IP address if the Ethernet cable is removed and reinserted.

This problem occurred with both the previous and current V6.3.8.11 firmware versions. In fact the problem happened again after I did the update today which required a restart.
I have never had to power cycle the gateway before but just in case did it a few times while experiencing this problem - made no difference.
I am not trying access devices between both private networks so the double nat environment is not an issue.
Having 2 private networks is intentional. This is not the issue here.
I am happy with the environment that I have - it's been set up this way for the last 10 years across multiple Orbi products.
There is something else going on with the RBR760 when it is either restarted or it's internet cable is removed and put back. It is losing a setting somewhere.
I appreciate your reply.

Are you using the blue (2.5 gpbs) LAN port on the BGW320 gateway? Or are you using one of the yellow (1 gpbs) ports?
If you haven't tried both port types on the gateway, I suggest you do that next. It could be a cable issue (the internet cable might not carry multigig reliably). It could of course also be an issue with the RBR WAN port hardware.

What firmware version is the Orbi system using?
A power cycle of the ATT Gateway should be performed as well. Off for 30 seconds then back ON.
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.
