Orbi RBK753 lowering ISP speeds after 1 day router and satellites restarted
I know this question has been asked many times because I have seen it before but I can't pinpoint where the issue resides.
I have ORBI RBK753 system for around 2 years, has been working fine but not sure if last recent system updates did something that downgrades my real ISP speed, my current ISP speed is 200 Mbs and I get around 90/100 mb even if I conneect directly via ethernet from the router, after I turn satellites and router in that order and then turn on router and satellites in that order, I start to get 200 mb again, but it works fine for around 12-24 hours.
I have restored ORBI system to factory settings with the same result, I changed from router mode to AP mode, same result, it only works for about 12-24 hours and again I started to get 90/100 mb speeds.
Current firmware version based on www.orbilogin.com:
Model Name | Device Name | Current Firmware | Version Status | |
Router | RBR750 | RBR750 | V7.2.6.31 | No New Firmware Available |
Satellite | RBS750 | Satellite-1 | V7.2.6.31 | No New Firmware Available |
Satellite | RBS750 | Satellite-2 | V7.2.6.31 | No New Firmware Available |
I can recall this was working fine before these firmware updates, this could be related to firmware? if yes, what is the last recommended version to apply it to router and satellites?
Swap LAN cables for sure. CAT6 UTP between the ISP ONT and RBR and RBR to laptop.
Also might test with a different PC to compare results as well.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.May want to downgrade FW back to v.21. RBS first, the RBR lastly.

The ISP modem model is a Huawei HG8145V5, I'm not sure how to get the ONT or how to know it, this is the first time that I see this term.
The ethernet cable that I have between the ISP modem and ORBI router RBR750 is a category 7 cable.
What I noticed is that if I connect directly to the Orbi router through ethernet, I get speeds around 90/100 mb, but If I connect via ethernet to the ISP modem, I get the 200+ mbs.
May need to ask the ISP to help you with the ONT. Seems to have a router and wifi built in. Would be best if they can bridge it or use it's DMZ for the RBR to help with this:
This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Try option #2 first...

Factory Reset and reloading firmware are two of the most frequent recommendations on the forum.
It might be useful to measure some things at regular intervals, such as
(with the RBR750 in router mode) record these items:
- Speed Test (up and down)
- Traffic Meter for the current day (up and down)
- CPU usage. Open http://orbilogin.net/debug.htm Wait 10-15 seconds and refresh the web page.
My concern is that "something is going on" with one or more devices on the LAN and interfering with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection.
Cable internet often has much lower speed on the "up" link than on the "down" link. (this is normal because most customers generate very little traffic compared to what they consume.) There was a post earlier this year from a user who complained that his internet connection dropped to almost nothing. It turned out he had a typical cable service and had decided to upload 100GB of data to a backup cloud account. With the uplink totally consumed, speed test could not respond to download packets and the service was at a standstill.

I didn't know about that debug option, I restarted it few hours ago and I see the CPU load and Memory Usage is not that high as you can see below:
CPU Load: 16.27%
Memory Usage(Used/Total): 324 MB/874 MB
System Uptime: 0 days 02:42:48
Maybe I will double check again when the issue is presented and see if the CPU load and Memory usage has been increased and something is affecting the same.
Also, I have enabled the traffic meter, I will keep an eye on that one, but one thing that I can say that I already replied to someone in my post is that connecting the ethernet cable directly to the ORBI when I'm experiencing the issue and do an speed test, it has speeds around 90/100, If I do it directly through the ISP modem, it gives me 200mb.
