RBR850 firmware updates - service unreachable and manual updates fail
I have the orbi wifi 6 mesh system, model number RBR850.
When trying to update firmware I just get the message "service unreachable and manual updates fail"
If I download the update files and attempt to manually install the process also fails as the file is not recognised (and yes I am unzipping the file before uploading).
Is this an error on netgear's side?
NG meantioned to me that v12 was never intended to be up on the update service. Next major one should be.
Please mark you thread as solved so others will know.
Thank you.

What version of FW are you using currently?
What browser are you using to apply the v12 manual FW files?

Firmware Version
V3.2.16.22_1.4.9I am using Chrome to apply updates. Should I perhaps try another browser?
I use Edge or Firefox here. Sometimes Opera GX. Seen odd problems with Chrome so I don't use it for doing any FW updates.
- KMDonlonVirtuosoService unreachable here too... Just checked. This has happened in the past from time to time... usually corrects itself after a while. Netgear's servers probably are the problem.

Yet another NG deficiency in practice. I always do firmware updates manually for everything that needs it and where it can be done manually. It's possible there COULD be a problem (note for anyone that might say I'm saying it is THE problem) with the firmware download - maybe just one bit off somewhere, but you'd never know.
In my OPINION, NG should put a checksum for their downloads so the user can verify the validity/accuracy of the download - especially something as crucial as firmware that has the potential to brick something if there's the slightest thing wrong in the right place.
I know even checksums can be faulty at times, but it's far better and safer than no checksum at all.

Wow, Netgear isn't good as it used to be. Same for many other companies. :(
- KMDonlonVirtuosoSeems to be working again... All good on my end now.
Same here, working again:

Agreed that the automatic firmware update facility is now reaching the servers.
However there is clearly a new firmware version on netgear's site, so not sure why there is a message suggesting that there is no firmware update available?

I didn't want to create a new thread on this since my issue is very similar, but slightly different.
I just went to do a firmware update and I see the table below. Is it odd that there would be a firmware update available for the router but that the satellites can't reach the service for their updates? Or, would doing the update for the RBR the propogate updates to the satellites?
Also, seems strange that the Model Name is blank for one of my two satellites, but what do I know? lol
Model Name Device Name Current Firmware Version Status
Router RBR850 RBR850 V3.2.16.22 V3.2.18.1-signed Satellite Satellite-2 V3.2.16.22 Service unreachable Satellite RBS850 Satellite-1 V3.2.16.22 Service unreachable The RBS should be updated first. Probably since the FW is not in sync with the RBR, maybe a reason why the RBR is reporting this.
Manually download the FW for v18.1 for the RBS and apply it to the RBS using the RBS web pageL
