New Orbi 370 Router

Hi.  i just hooked up my new Orbi 370 dual band Wifi 7 Mesh router with 1 satellite.  Before this I was using an Orbi RB50 Wifi 5 Mesh router with 1 satellite.  After setting up the new router, I'm testing the same wifi speeds as I was getting with my old router.  I was expecting a little bit a jump in speed.  Am I wrong to expect this?  Can anyone speak to this?  I have 1 GB fiber internet coming in.  The speed of the router is testing in the mid-900mb range.  However, my wifi download speed is testing around 400mb and about 650 upload speed. I tested it 3 times after getting everything hooked up. I live in a one-story 1800 sq ft ranch house with a finished basement that is also 1800 sq ft. My base station is in the middle of the main floor and my satellite is in the middle of the basement. This setup was by far the best setup with my old router system. Thanks for any insight you might have.

No.  My experience is that ISP speed can change over time as the aggregate load from their subscribers changes.

The device being used to measure speed over WiFi is a critical piece of information.  While WiFi7 offers higher potential speed over WiFi6 and WiFi5, only a device capable of WiFi7 can take advantage of it.  Also, speed over WiFi is affected by distance from the WiFi access point.

What are the ethernet connected speeds seen?

What brand and model wireless device are you speed testing with?
Be sure it's connected to the RBR for best results. Can turn OFF the RBS temporarily while testing.

Be sure to speed test using Orbi app, then Ooklas installable speed test app.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Now testing again through the speedtest app, I got 511 down and 753 up.  It seems to be getting faster over the last few hours. I'm wondering if there is an adjustment period?

When I connected the routers, I updated to the latest firmware today. The ethernet speed at last test is 970mb down and 940 up. This is from the Orbi app.Using the Ookla Speedtest app I got 482 down and 534 up.  With the Speedtest browser site I got 410 down and 634 up.  These numbers aren't very different from what I was used to seeing with my old router.  It was usually between 375-500 down. The ISP is i3 Broadband and I'm using their DZS router bringing the fiber optic cable inside the house. Thanks for replying.
