Orbi 370 Satellite Speed is bad
I thought I was upgrading from my RBR50 and 1 satellite that died by getting the Orbi 370 and 1 satellite. Wow was I wrong. I have 500 speed fiber. Wireless that sees the router gets great speed, same as my old RBR50. The satellite barely breaks 150 up and down. The RBR50 satellite would push at least 350 or more. The router and satellite are in the same exact locations in my house as the RBR50 was.
I did the install by the book and made no changes to the basic or advanced settings. Is the 370 just an inferior product? Are there settings I should change to get back to the speeds I had with the RBR50 satellite?
If this can't be resolved easily. I'm returning the 370 and tring another brand mesh system

For more in-depth information. Dong did do a analysis on the orbi family, the MLO option, the backhaul option, and more. its worth a read if you want more information on the subject.

Was the old 50 series slowing anything down or what triggered the desire to update? The 50 series should still be decent with 500mbps service.

My previous RBR50 router just stopped working. The white led kept flashing and would never connect.
Not sure if the backhaul to the satellite is 5g. I did the basic plug and play set up. I figured that would optimize the connections. Not sure I would check if the back haul is 5g. I recall my RBR50 had a beamoforming option, or something like that. I don't see that setting for the 370.

The RBE370 is the most base model system without a dedicated backhaul. The RBK50 was the flagship at its time. Thats why. To see faster peak speeds, you'd need to upgrade more.
I'd take a look at Dong Ngo's review of wifi 7 mesh systems. Take a look at the performances and expectations as well as price. Then choose.

He does review the lower end systems too so its worth checking those out if you're on more of a budget.

Thanks for the link. When I read the features for the 370 it says it has enhanced backhaul (MLO). Are you saying it doesn't have a dedicated backhaul to connect the satellite to the router? I can't figure out if any other similar priced set up has a dedicated backhaul.

It does not.
FWIW, high-end WiFi 7 routers have three client bands - 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz, and 6 ghz. They are trending away from a dedicated backhaul network, since the extra 6 ghz band adds enough bandwidth to allow running the backhaul over the same radios.
Is the backhaul to your satellite using 5 Ghz? Also, do you know what band the client is connecting with?
