RBE771/RBE770 Orbi Loses connection constanly
Since I installed the Orbi 770 with the modem provided by SmartCity Telecom (ISP) I loose internet connection mostly twice a day. Moreover, I decided to force an IP Address lease renewal from the modem & I was able to replicate the issue... basically the router and the satellite remains connected. After 2 - 3 min, the Orbi Router displays the solid magenta light. After 2-5 min later (without doing anything) the internet connection comes back and the magenta light goes off.
I tested is not then modem, since I was able to maintain a connection if I connect the computer directly.
Any ideas?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Great experiment. Could you please be more specific (detailed) about the exact process used to do this (a) with the router connected to the Smart City modem, and (b) with a computer connected?
If, for example, the process was to select the "Renew" button on the Advanced Tab, Connection Status display, I would find it useful to have enabled the debug option to Enable LAN/WAN Packet Capture. (Found on http://orbilogin.net/debug.htm ). I would hope this would show the router issuing DHCP requests to the network and the responses from the network.
On the computer, I would use Wireshark (free for Windows and MacOS at http://wireshark.org ).
What lease duration does Smart City assign? Spectrum issues a one day (86,400 seconds) lease for IPv4 and a one week (604,800 seconds) for IPv6. Thus, my router attempts to renew the IPv4 lease in 12 hours. Does it appear that this problem "matches up" with the DHCP lease?
- KasenInitiateI am having the same issues I purchased 771 Router and 770 satellite along with the CM 3000 NETGEAR modem I have had nothing but problems with the WiFi. I isolated it to the router testing the modem with a wired connection. I have had a help ticket open for over a month troubleshooting with NETGEAR tier 2 and they are doing everything they can to not allow me to get a replacement I spent over a $1000 on this setup and having to hear complaints from my entire family I am very close to just trash the router /satelite and go with a different brand

I am having the same issuesBy "the same issues", you are stating that
- Two times every day the router loses internet and in 2-5 minutes the LED turns magenta.
- When this happens, the satellite remains connected to the router.
- Without taking any action, in another 2-3 minutes, the magenta light turns off and the system performs normally.
Correct?
What capability do you have to record the data stream between the 771 router and the modem?

Hello Kasen,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you have been experiencing issues with your RBE771 losing network connections periodically. This issue may be caused by a pervious firmware version. The resolve this issue please download the current firmware version 10.5.18.3 for your RBE771/RBE770.
Follow the step-by-step directions below to update the firmware on your RBE771:
Select ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Update > Online Update.
The Firmware Update page displays.
Click the Check button.
The router checks to see if new firmware is available for the router and satellites.
If new firmware is available, click the Update All button.Best,
Kevin

What brand and model# is this modem?
Is the ISP modem new or is the orbi system new?
Pink in front of the RBR means the RBR is not getting a good signal from the modem. Check cabling and modem. CAT6A STP is recommended between the modem and RBR. Have the ISP check the signal and logs during the time frames when you notice this happening. https://kb.netgear.com/31030/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-Orbi-mean
