Ethernet connection drops while gaming
I recently upgraded to a Nighthawk AX30 router with Spectrum 1gig internet service. My pc is connected by Ethernet to the router and while gaming, the connection randomly drops and then resets after several seconds. When this happens, we have no issues with anything that’s hooked up to the WiFi. I’ve tried researching everything I can about this but have not found a solution. I’m fairly new to computers and looking for any help at this point.

- aoneill1223AspirantYes I’ve reset everything and had spectrum reset the connection as well.
- aoneill1223AspirantI’ll get the modem info and firmware version when I get home. The Ethernet cables were the first thing to be replaced when this started happening

Spectrum Modem: Sercomm Docsis 3.1 EMTA Cable Modem 2.5 Gbps
Im going to replace the ethernet cable between modem and router when it arrives tomorrow as I'm using the flat ethernet that came with the modem. But I'm not sure it's that because all of our devices on wifi never disconnect.
The ethernet connection is through the motherboard which is an ASUS PRIME
B760M-A AX with the Realtek Gaming 2.5GBE family controller. This is the only PC in the house.
Does the Internet LED on the router change color when this happens?
I'd be sure to update the drivers from Realtek themselves to be sure.

Yep, all drivers are up to date.Just be aware there are drivers that come from Microsoft, there are drivers that come from the computer OEM, and sometimes there are drivers that come from the system chip maker on the motherboard. Dell is a good example of computer OEM and Intel is a good example of the system chip maker.
