RAX48 VPN?
I want to get a VPN provider but I read online that Nord or Express VPN does not work with the RSX48 model. Is there a VPN that works with this model?

There are two types of VPN:
- VPN Client. This is software installed on a device to allow it to connect to a VPN Host. Netgear does not provide VPN Client software for any routers.
Any device on the network can install VPN Client software and the router does not interfere in any way with that connection working as intended. So, you can sign up for Nord or Express VPN and use it on any device that you want to.... except the router itself. - VPN Host. This software allows clients to connect from remote locations. Netgear provides OpenVPN Host software for routers. This allows clients who are not connected to the local network to make a connection through the internet to the router, which then allows them access to the local network.
Rather than install a VPN Client on every computer, laptop, phone, etc., some people would rather install a VPN Client on their router so that every device connected to the network can use the VPN connection to access the internet without installing any software on individual devices. (and, also, without having to pay a license fee for each of the devices). Alas, Netgear does not support this feature.

Usually better to find out what VPN provider you want to use and what devices is compatible with their service. You can always use the RAX in access point mode and have a different router as host.
I built a small n150 router that I can host pretty much whatever VPN I want and then just use my netgear routers as access points.

It would be helpful if you clarified what you mean by "does not work". While you cannot install Nord and Express VPN on the router, Express VPN and Nord will work when installed on clients connected to the router.
Are you wanting
- remote access to your home network?
- all home internet traffic to use the VPN with no software installed on the devices?
- VPN software on some or all client devices to work when the VPN software is enabled on those clients?

appreciate the replies. Wanting to install it as a client so all traffic goes thru the router. Not understanding much about a VPN, i searched and it stated that my 2000 version of Netgear does not support it's us a a a client.
I decided to future-proof my network and ordered a wifi7 router that supports VPN client use.
