8-stream AX WiFi Gateway (CAX80)

Hello,

I have 2 questions : 

 

1) I have high speed 1Gbps internet connection and at time i see the issue with Upstream level. Xfinity is my provider and they confirmed that everything is good at their end. Should this be an problem with the router itself ? 

"Upstream power is poor (28.8dBmV). The recommended level is from 30 to 55dBmV."

 

2) Are there any recommendations for mesh (just satellites allowing me to use same ssidd) as I'm facing issues with WiFi strength in first floor (router in second floor). 

 

Any feedback is much appreciated.

    Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
    Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box. 
    Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem. 
    Start with removing any amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the coax.
    From there check the line for kinks, damage, moisture in the line.
    Check the connectors for improperly made ends, foil touching the copper coax line, loose connections, bad/old/cheap connectors, or corroded connections. Replace them if you do.
    Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON.

    EAX80 would be a good match for a extender. 

    What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

      Hi,

       

      ISP has verified and we have removed all the splitters that were left over in the past. I'm not sure if the insulation across the walls is hampering the signal. House is about 2000 sqft.

        To add, CAX80 is my modem + router and I do not have a separate Modem from the ISP. My home is 2000+ sqft but has 3 floors.

         

        Does 1 EAX80 sufficient for this?

    Power levels look good though the higher channels are lower than the lower channels seen with higher power. Still with in spec.

     

    I'd have the ISP check the event logs to be sure things are ok here. 

    Review the suggestions in my first post as well if any of that could be needed. 

     

    Otherwise, you should be ok.
