Thank you for the tip. After making my original post, I held the factory reset button for about 5 minutes. It actually went through the reset and began working again!
Unfortunately it just stopped, after 3 days of working fine. Same exact issue as before. I tried holidng the button for a while, and your recommendation, but neither changed the blinking sequence.
If the modem failed, will NetGear refund me?

Dec 17, 2016Go to MyNetgear .....support.....replace my defective device......."TELL THEM IT WILL NOT POWER UP" if it's less than 1 year old
