C3700-100NAS - Connection issues

Have had the modem/router in one for awhile but it seems glitchy.

Firmware Version

V1.01.11

I have this current one as a replacement but it seems it may be worse or just as bad as the first one.
I am getting disconnects but my ISP says i have Great signal. Problem right now is when I go to the site of the router
and type in the user/id
admin / password

the router seems to be shutting off/rebooting itself.

I think that Netgear needs a new firmware for the router or something to fix the issues.
I liked my modem before and router separate and I am thinking about doing that again.
This router seems to becoming a Piece of Junk if it has these types of issues.

Netgear is there any solution you have to fix it?

I also host my own server/domain on this router but that shouldn't make this much difference.

    Hi mrjohncool35,

Looks like after replacing the unit, the concern still exists. When did the disconnection start? How many times will it reboot? Do you happen to run a particular application then it will reboot? Or this happens randomly? Did you try using a different modem to verify if it will give you the same problem? Perhaps you could try a test modem from your ISP. Let us know what happens.

    Regards,

I am unsure how many times a Day it does reboot but i'm concerned with the fact that the router reboots when i open up chrome or another browser and go to access the router with my computer. That right there is a Bug/Flaw in your software causing the hardware to be faulty as well. My devices are 3 Cell phones - Andriod, a Roko Stick, 3 Laptops, 1 Desktop wireless and 1 directly plugged in and a Magic Jack Plus Plugged in.

I create my own Router ID and Pass Phrase for it so it is more secure than most routers.

My concern is the router ID is the issue or I have yet found another Faulty router.

Router ID is similar to: AaaaaAAaaaa!

Router Pass Phrase is: Aaaa 0000 Aaaaa Aaaaa Aaaa!

Of course those are not exactly 100% how it is setup but a good example how I have set my router up to be more secure vs using default settings.

I am unsure if any of the devices listed above would cause a problem. All my computers are Windows 7 systems.

Please advise as to if there is a Firmware update or something else that may be causing this issue. My cable company has stated there was some static or something in my line but it has since then been cleaned up and my Coax is good as the TV's work perfectly fine.

mrjohncool35 All firmware push will be done by the ISP. There is no way to upgrade the firmware manually for your device. Since you have the latest firmware, kindly PM me a copy of your configuration file, logs, event logs and cable connection page for analysis.

The problem is intermetent. Plus this problem with me logging onto the Router with the IP address seems to be constantly happening when i feel there is a slow connection and i want to manually reboot the router from a browser the modem/router reboots itself when logging into it. That shouldn't Ever happen. I feel I have a Faulty Router and should be upgraded to a newer version or something. This router seems to have Faults that are not mine. I have used routers and modems since 1998 as a IT Specialist and this one has faulty software and possibly hardware. There is no way this modem should give me this much trouble compared to a modem and router separate. I have given you a Name of a router that i use but not the exact and a Pass Phrase as well but yet you don't tell me whether there is a flaw in using that Pass phrase or Router name that may cause this issue. I tried a Modem and Router and The reboot issue does NOT happen as it does with this one so this router seems to be faulty as either a hardware issue or software/firmware. I would suggest i get a newer or better model.

mrjohncool35 There shouldn't be any issue in using that passphrase or router name you provided. Based from your description it could be a faulty hardware or could also be a software. However, for us to understand the real cause of it we would need the information asked previously.
