C6300 - Cannot perform firmware upgrade - GUI missing
Hello,
I am trying to do a firmware upgrade on my C6300 router. I have tried going to this website for instructions:
https://kb.netgear.com/000053268/R6300v2-Firmware-Version-1-0-4-20
The site suggests that I go to administration tab and select the firmware button, but the problem is on my GUI I do not have this option. I have also tried downloading the Netgear Genie application and this also does not work.
I have seen on some forums that the ISP needs to perform the firmware upgrade, but the issue is, this is my personal router.
Does anyone know a simple workaround to this issue? Thanks!

Generally speaking, you can't.

Doesn't matter. You still can't. If you search around, then you
should be able to find similar responses from actual Netgear agents.

Define "simple". Contact your ISP.- jdlrAspirant
Thanks for the reply. So I purchased a router from bestbuy and I cannot perform upgrades because only a ISP, that shouldnt have access to my personal router, is allowed to...great product Netgear.
With that being said, I am trying to connect this cable router directly to the coaxial feed from my Spectrum internet. I was on the phone for 3 hours yesterday with tech support and the signal could not sync...it would lock in but would not sync, therefore I could not get internet connection. The tech said that I should try to perform a firmware upgrade, since Spectrum says it should be at V2.01.22, when my current firmware is at V2.01.18 (src: https://kb.netgear.com/000036375/What-s-the-latest-firmware-version-of-my-NETGEAR-cable-modem-or-modem-router).
Should I keep troubleshooting with Spectrum?

What if it's not Netgear's decision?

Have you another option?
