C7000 Speed drop Newly added to Suddenlink plan
Just purchased a C7000 AC1900 Nighthawk. Had the modem activated on my Suddenlink account and I can not get more than 20 down and 2 up. I confirmed the old modem was taken off of the account (tested before the modem was taken off old gave me 241 up and 52 down) I have a 1GB plan. Modem is plugged directly into the coax port, no equipment between the port an

1. is the C7000 approved for gigabit on suddenlink?
2. did they provision it correctly? it wouldn't be the first time the wrong provisioning has been sent
3. have they checked your line? you upstream signal is low. If there's any attenuators, splitters, amplifiers in line, remove them.
As i look into it more, it seems you need a 32X8 for Gigabet speed, but shouldn't i still get 500Mbps? and I have called them mulitple times to check the cose sent to the modem to insure it is the coorct one and they have assured me it is. I have no equipment between the port and the modem I am just getting terribly slow speed. 20 down and 2 up. Suddenlinks Gig plan only offers 52 up as its max.

so its either:
1. the line from the isp.
2. the provisioning sent to it.
3. the C7000
Its tough when you dont' know and can't prove. do you have a spare modem you can try or will the isp give/lease you one? I've had to lease one once for a month to prove to an ISP that it wasn't my modem causing the slowdowns. They're much more liable to work on a line when their equipment isn't performing.
