C7100v not detecting USB hard drive
I recently switched ove to a cable / voice modem. C7100V and according to the information I can find it is supposed to see HDs connected to the USB port. I hav tried three different WD drives and it will not "see" any of them. When I connect to the computer they all show up.
Is there a secret to getting the C7100V to start seeing external HDs?
I have cycled power to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Are the drives USB 2.0 or 3.0?
What is the size of the drives tested?
Do any of them have there own power adapter?
Sorry about taking so long to reply had to get another router so I will try it out later today after install.
The USB drives were both usb 3 and no external power.
