CAX80 Doesnt Save Settings
CAX80 doesn't save settings. I have the latest firmware. I have done the manual reset of the router by sticking a pin in the hole and reconfigured it. If power ever drops, or you click "reboot router" it doesn't save anything and have to reconfig all settings. Is product defective?
Also, When I set the nextDNS ipv6 servers in the routers settings it says rebooting. When it reboots, it doesn't save the settings and I have to resetup admin/pw and everything else. I have the latest firmware, and have done the factory reset and unplug and wait etc.
The IPv4 nextdnsDNS servers seem to work fine
Next DNS provides ipv6 as 2a07:a7c0::cb:66ab as an example. The router has 8 spaces for ipv6 entry, how would I enter this correctly?? When i tried the nextdns suggested 2a07:a7c0:0000:0000:0000:0000:00cb:66ab and click apply it reboots and nothing is saved. Do I have to enter the 2a07:a7c0::cb:66ab in some sort of special format for this router?
Also, about once or twice a day I'll get a query from internetcheckcable.netgear.com that seems to ping every few seconds that is seemingly endless (1-2+hours) unless i enter the router panel and click apply on setup>-internetsetup.
I tried blocking the query, but it leads to connection status error in the router settings, but internet seems to work fine despite the error. I tried blocking it via the router interface block page, but it seems to ignore that rule at the router level. At the moment internetcheckcable.netgear.com , is allowed and I don't think has any relation to the ipv6 DNS issue or router reboot and not saving settings.
Any help is much appreciated - Thank you!

It should save the settings. Try reinstalling the latest firmware, then factory reset, and then reinstall it. Don't install from a backup.
What actual version of firmware are you on?

Latest Firmware V5.1.1.8. Did all you said (multiple times even) and still doesn't save settings upon reboot and have to renter all info again (as per usual thus far).
Have tried via Firefox, Brave, and Chrome - all w/ the same result - settings dont save have to manually resetup eveything.
Is this a normal subnetmask for Internet connection tab???
In the LAN section this is my subnet
Why wont this router save settings??- plzhelprouterAspirant
Dont know if this is relevant but cable information via router ipaddress and range
Cable Information on gatewaystatus via 192.168.1.1

I just pulled up nextdns and plugged in their ipv6 address (wasn't the same you posted) and it worked fine.
Not sure if you're entering it incorrectly or what. When you see the :: , that's indicating the spaces are 0000's like you wrote. So not sure whats going on there. That should be entered under the DNS server address.
The pinging you're getting is pretty common. The router pings back to the central server to check connection status for both the GUI and the app. It doesn't use much for data. I had a bug with one of my devices that was pinging back 15,000 x a day. Its was excessive and overloading my pihole so I had to block it. Thats one of the few times it causes issues. Otherwise its a simple check back.
You said you did reinstall the firmware and factory reset it? I'm curious to see how you're entering the information in and what happens when you do it? The screensnip function has a video screen capture (where you set a specific zone to capture) that could show it

I'm entering it correctly. I've even tried other public DNS servers cloudfare/google and the result is the same. The router reboots and doesn't remember any information. After spending 30+ hours, I think ive had enough of this. I'm just going to return via Amazon and am awaiting an Arris S34.

furthermore, even upon factory reset and clicking to reboot the router w/o changing any of the default settings, when it reboots it resets everything. Something is wrong with it being able to save settings upon reboot. The IPv6 issue was just confounding on the fact that the router wont save settings despite doing everything suggested to make it do so multiple multiple times.
