CG3000Dv2 - Can't connect to game servers, general surfing is fine

About a little more than a month ago (had router for 3 years), I found myself unable to connect to game servers (across the board, no particular game in general) and some voice servers.

The computer, software, hardware, ISP, and the various settings have not changed, so I was wondering if some piece of auto-updated router firmware changed the way it operates.

Either way, I tried disabling firewalls and port-forwarding with hardly any success. My ISP is Comcast.

General surfing works totally fine, but I have come home to the computer a few times (no more than three so far) and seen that the desktop reads the computer as being offline even though the routers shows itself as being online.

Resetting the router usually allows me to get into games, but it's a daily thing and quite the nuisance. If you have any leads to look into, I would appreciate it.

    Hello Mwjscn

Are you gaming on a console or PC? Have you tried to port forward? I would also check your ethernet cords make sure its not a issue with them since you said the PC shows disconnected alot.

      PC

As the OP says, I tried port forwarding without success. A port scan shows all ports as filtered, even when firewall is completely off and port forwarding is enabled.

I doubt it's an issue with the ethernet. Complete internet failure has only occured a couple times. I can browse the internet just fine, it just seems like something is blocking the connection to game and voice servers.

Just to rule out ethernet, I changed the cable to another one and the issue persists.
