CM1150V Telephony modem

I just purchased a CM1150V Telephony modem.  The Quick start gives a link to find out how to use LAN ports 2,3,4, but I cannot find the answer at this link.  My port 1 works fine connected to my router, but when I plug port 2 directly to my PC, it stays yellow and it will not connect my PC to my network using the Ethernet connection.  Anyone know how to use the other LAN ports?

Someone might, but if Netgear published anything, then they hid it
    very well.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and
look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  I see:

Ethernet ports 1-4. For installation and activation, connect a
computer to Ethernet port 1. After you install your cable modem
and activate your Internet service, you can disconnect your
computer and connect a router to Ethernet port 1. Your cable modem
comes with plugs that cover Ethernet ports 2, 3 and 4.  For more
information about Ethernet ports 2, 3, and 4, visit
          netgear.com/support/product/CM1150V.

I'd've thought that "plugs that cover Ethernet ports 2, 3 and 4"
would be a hint.  I'd also guess that you'd need a NAT router if you
wanted to connect multiple devices to any ISP connection which provides
    a single public IP address.

       Same here.  Typical Netgear documentation.

  • apparently the other ports are only for aggragation and cannot be used as a hub.

  • If I have one lan PC and 2 wlan roku....my 2nd lan PC won't go into the web or do a speed check.
Very disappointed with the product...about to return it.

The modem needs a external wired router put behind it. Then you can connect all the rest of the devices to the router. ALL CM series modems are modems only. C series modems are modems with built in router and wifi features for future reference.
