CM1200 - Problem I've never seen before
I have a CM1200 that is 14 months old. Rock solid until yesterday. Starting in the morning, the modem started rebooting and the lights started a flashing in a pattern I've never seen before:
- Power light on solid for about 10 seconds
- Power light on solid, rcv-xmit-internet flashing
- Power light flashing, while rcv-xmit-internet continue flashing. Power light is alternating on/off with the other three: power on, three off then power off and three on.
- Power, rcv, xmit, internet lights go off. Ethernet lights come on solid yellow for 10 seconds.
Then the pattern starts all over again. I assumed it was something with the ISP, but the tech was just here and the signal is normal (I didn't write down the numbers but basically the downstream channels were 1.1-ish and the upstream were at 39-ish.) I tried a hard reset, but nothing changed. So I assume the modem is a goner.
Does this pattern make sense to anybody? Thank you!
Howard

Can you access the modems web page at all at 192.168.100.1?
Try this, disconnect the ISP coax cable from the the modem. Press the reset button for 15 seconds then release.
Check to see if power LED comes on solid then down led blinks. Up won't.Connect one ethernet PC to port #1 on the back leaving the coax cable disconnected. Give about 2-3 minutes then attempt to access the modems web page at 192.168.100.1

Thank you! No success with any of the suggested steps. As a guess, I'm thinking it's not completing POST. Maybe a failed board, maybe a code update failed partway... who knows?
I guess it's time to replace it.

last resort you can try is a 30-30-30 reset, if this fails then ya, needs replacing.
