CM2000 won’t reconnect while Generac standby generator on
I can’t figure out why the modem won’t connect after power goes out and standby generator kicks on. Every single time there’s an outage the internet never connects. I even bought a sign wave ups system to put between the wall outlet and modem to clean up the power. Any suggestions?

Is the device you connecting to the CM modem the only device connected?
Be aware that the CM modem is a modem only, so no wifi or router built in here. If you have more than 1 device, you'll need a external wifi router to connect to the CM modem. Then connect you devices to this wifi router.

Could be that if you're power is out, so is the cmts that the ISP's hub connects to. Doesn't do your modem any good to be powered on if the ISP's hub isn't.
- kcb2627AspirantUnderstood. I’m confident that a couple of times at least was due to an Entergy breaker being flipped at a substation and to my knowledge it wasn’t Cox.

Any suggestions? With your UPS system in place, your modem should never loose power in the time between the outage and the time when the generator kicks in. That is unless the time duration exceeds the capacity of your UPS.
If your modem looses power and thus your internet connection, something else is the cause. Do you have your modem power connected the appropriate battery backed outlet on your UPS?
- kcb2627AspirantI will check this when I get home in the morning. It’s a possibility

When it happens, log into the modem and check its cable connections page. IF its not connecting back to the hub, its the hub is down as well. I know if my area, when the power goes out, so does the hub and we don't have internet regardless of my modems's ups.
