Cox Gigablast CM1200

1GB coming out of outlet according to Cox’s test using their modem. CM1200 wired directly from outlet to modem only getting about 300mbps. HELP! Netgear says Cox needs to lock or unlock something. Cox says the problem is the modem. Modem was brand new. Still took it back and exchanged but having same problem.

Speed tests running with a wired PC connected to the back of the modem?

ISP control how modems get connected, signals and channelization. The modem should work out of the box with out any configurations. There not much to configure on the modem.

Ensure the Link Aggregation feature is disabled on the modem is all.

Connect to Port #1 with a wired PC.

Connect a different wired PC to compare if needed.

Ensure wired network adapters installed in PCs are rated for 1000Mbps conenction rates on there ports.

Swap out LAN cables between PC and modem. CAT6 is recommended.

Check the modems connect status that reports channels being used and Lock status. 32 channels should be in use and locked in for a 1Gb ISP service.

    Try a factory reset.

Pls put event logs and Connection table screenshots

  • I have a CM1000 - which is on Cox approved list - same issue.

No matter what we tried, stuck at 300Mps.

Cox say to contact NetGear to upgrade the firmware.

Netgear says end users can't upgrade firmware. Endless loop.

    At wit's end.

NG developes the FW, however ISPs are responsible to test FW on there system to ensure it works there. They should see this issue and if it's not working for them then the ISP should notiify NG.
