Internet just turning off after about 40 minutes
So i recently hooked up this modem router after it sitting for about a year in the house. and for some reason after i got it hooked up with cox and everything. the internet just stops working, wifi and all (the wifi is still on though). But when i go downstairs all the lights on the modem that should be on are on and it looks completely fine.
It even works flawlessly giving me amazing network and speeds before it happens. but it just suddenly stops working. I dont know if the unit is bad or something but i just need some help. its not over heating either, the modem feels barely warm.

What is that "stops working". Wifi devices? Ethernet connections?
You say "wifi is still on", you mean that devices can see the SSID?
You need to rule out the devices that connect to the router as being the issue rather than the router itself.
Your subject suggests that you get the network back on line and have seen this behaviour several times. How did you bring it back to life?
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:Cable Modems & Gateways - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.- TheCmtgodAspirantBoth stop working, I can see the ssid on my Wi-Fi page but that’s about it
Yes I can see the ssid and the lights for the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz are on just fine.
Well so far there was one computer hard wired to it and a couple phones over Wi-Fi. But even when it was just my pc it was happening.
All I did was reset the modem/router and it would work again for like another 40 minutes to an hour before doing the same thing
I’ll post some stuff over there but I’m at work at the moment so I’ll have to do it later unfortunately

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.
