Looking for compatible wired router or how to make the current one work!
Hi - I'm interested in getting a wired (non-wifi) router that will not degrade my high speed internet signal from Xfinity (Pittsburgh) and that is compatible with my CM1000 modem. I purchased an inexpensive TrendNet (TW100) 4 port router and finally got it to work, but it seems like streaming is slower and fragmented. My husband works from home with on-line sessions so we can't risk the quality not being good. Cost is an issue, so less expensive options would be very helpful!
Thank you!
Not sure if NG has any wired only routers anymore. They mostly make routers with WiFi.
I now that Ubiquity has wired only routers. You might look into the Edge Router X.

Most any NetGear router will work with the CM1000. Most any non NetGear router should work as well.

Do you get good streaming when directly connected to the CM modem with a wired PC?

Yes, it worked great without the router. The trick is that I don't want a wifi router. I don't want the additional expense of that feature and I don't want the wifi functionality.
Thoughts?
