Modem/ Router Dropout

I'm getting intermittent "not connected to internet" message across multiple devices.  I have a fire tv stick connected to wifi, it will stop streaming and then restart on it's own, or at worst I'll exit and restart the app (Hulu, Netflix, etc) and it will then work fine.  Or I'll be browsing on the laptop, and the browser will randomly say "not connected".  Reloading the page or initiating another search will clear the error.

Any suggestions for settings I could look for and adjust on the modem/ router to avoid these random connection drops?

Which ISP is the modem connecting too?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.

    Is Smart connect enabled?

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Is it saying "connected, no internet" on devices?

Do wired devices drop? or just wireless?

The goal is to determine if its a wireless issue or a modem side issue

A copy of the event logs and cable connections page will help check the modem side

Thanks for the replies and suggestions!  This router is in a condo I'd not been in for a couple years.  When I returned, the connections defaulted to 5GHz.  I changed it over to 2.4, and that fixed the drops.  Fortunately, 2.4 works fine for my needs.

I don't know why 5GHz drops occur.  The router is in the same room, within 30 feet or so of most devices with no intervening wall or obstruction.  I'll bookmark this thread and return to try the fixes if I find I need more speed in the future.
